Floyd Abang serves as the Regional Ground Operations Lead for the Americas at the International Air Transport Association (IATA)—the global trade association representing approximately 350 airlines and 80% of the world's air traffic. Based in Miami, Floyd holds the position of Assistant Manager, Operations, Safety & Security (OSS), where he advocates for and drives the implementation of industry priorities in ground operations. His work involves close collaboration with government authorities, airlines, airports, and service providers across the region. With over 15 years of experience in the aviation industry, Floyd previously served as an Air Traffic Management (ATM), Safety and Operations Advisor within IATA's Safety, Operations, and Infrastructure department for the Americas. He is certified as an IOSA Auditor, holds the ISAGO Documentation and Training GOSM certificate, and is OSHA-certified, among other professional credentials. Floyd earned a Master of Science in Aviation Safety from the University of Central Missouri and a Bachelor of Science in Technology Management from Kansas State University.
